Kara's HoPE

Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special Event

Congratulations to Lars O. from Scottsdale, AZ!
Lars had ticket # 295028 and is the lucky winner.

To many fans of the classic 1911 platform, Wilson Combat is a name synonymous with quality and precision. Likewise, to many shooters, Ken Hackathorn needs little or no introduction. Hackathorn has been on the leading edge of defensive training since his days as an instructor at the fabled Gunsite training facility. Hackathorn provides training to sworn law enforcement officers, military personnel, and to non-sworn civilian shooters as well. Hackathorn knows his way around the 1911 platform like few others in the industry.

Having known Bill Wilson for years, and having shot multiple Wilson Combat pistols in competition and in training environments, it was only logical that Wilson Combat and Ken Hackathorn would partner to produce a pistol with all the features needed to create a serious pistol, and in Hackathorn’s words, “…and nothing you don’t.”

For our latest fundraising event, Guns for a Cause is offering this pistol on behalf of Kara’s HoPE. Proceeds from this event will help fund the ongoing mission of that organization to provide relief to families with children who are coping with the effects of Holoprosencephaly (HPE). Holoprosencephaly is an incurable brain anomaly which is life limiting at best, and most often terminal in infancy.

The “Hackathorn Special” features a full sized carbon steel frame and slide, the best Wilson Combat “Bulletproof” parts, and a match grade barrel and bushing. The pistol is expertly fit, embellished with serrations across the top of the slide to reduce glare, high visibility sights featuring a fiber optic front blade mated to Wilson’s “Combat Pyramid” rear sight, and front cocking serrations for “press-checking” your pistol’s status.

The icing on the cake is Wilson’s carry bevel treatment which removes all sharp edges and corners from the gun. The centerpiece of this treatment is their concealment grip safety, which has a reduced or minimized profile, in order to minimize the possibility of “printing” when carrying concealed.

The Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special really is an amazingly well thought out package for defensive or competition use. Performance and reliability are built in features, and Wilson Combat has created a “working man’s gun” with the style and refinement of custom showpieces costing much more.

For this event there will be a strict limit of only 2,500 tickets available. We expect this event to sell out for this highly sought-after custom pistol package. The Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special 1911 .45 pistol retails for nearly $3,800. Tickets for this event are just $20 and will be available only through 11:00 pm (Eastern) on the 2nd of October, 2016.

We will draw a winner on Monday, the 3rd of October, 2016. A cash alternative prize will be made available to participants in California or any other jurisdiction where this specific firearm may be prohibited.

Contestants need not be present to win. Entries will be electronically logged and you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your “e-Ticket” number(s). The drawing will be conducted by an independent accounting firm. See Official Drawing Rules for details.

Credit card donations are encrypted. Currently, Guns for a Cause accepts donations through Visa, Master Card, and Discover.

Please note: Due to U.S. postal regulations (18 U.S.C. Section 1302), raffle ticket stubs cannot be returned by mail for purchases over the Internet, through the mail or by telephone. When an order is placed, we will add the donor’s information including name, address, e-mail address and phone number, into our database. Each “ticket” will then be assigned a computer generated randomized number. The winning “ticket” shall also be selected by using a random number generator, thus creating a “double blind” selection process. The winner will be notified based on the name and contact information provided by the donor, at the time of the donation.
