GunsForACause is honored to bring you the opportunity to participate in a benefit for the American Pistolsmiths Guild. When you support the APG, not only are you supporting the constant improvement of the gun maker’s art, you are supporting an organization firmly dedicated to the support of our Second Amendment rights and the promotion of legislation to preserve our rights for future generations. The APG also exists to establish “best practices” for the custom gunsmith industry and is dedicated to the satisfaction of the shooting public when issues between a maker and a customer may arise. The APG is more than just an association of gunsmiths; it is also an advocacy group for the entire shooting community.
To be a gunsmith takes time, patience and refinement. An individual may be born with mechanical coordination and mathematical skills, but the APG helps refine the art of custom gunsmithing through a peer-review process which each member must undergo before being considered for admission to the Guild. What you see here are the results of some of the finest pistolsmiths in the world, coming together to forge not one, but two, unique 1911 pistols. Truly, this is another unique opportunity to place the finest workmanship into your own collection.
Both pistols in the set have identical serial numbers, which is only possible due to the frames originating from two different manufacturers. The first featured pistol is a Caspian Government Model which has been built by the following master pistolsmiths: Irv Stone III, Neil Keller, Bill Laughridge and John Yanek.
The second exceptional pistol in this set comes from American Pistolsmith Guild members Jason Chamblis, Jeremy Sides and James Winfree. All three of these talented smiths spend most of their days working in the prestigious Springfield Armory Custom Shop. Naturally, their selection for this special set was a Springfield Armory Champion model.
Topping off this fantastic set of custom pistols is an equally impressive set of custom holsters and magazine pouches from Erik Little of the Rafter-L Combat Leather company. These holsters are the perfect compliment to the custom pistols featured in this event.
